Almost every person in the Western world has at least a passing acquaintance with the tales of King Arthur. The legend’s origin is unclear, but it seems to have first popped up sometime around A.D 830…In our age, the legend of Arthur has been animated (Disney’s The Sword in the Stone), musicalized (Broadway’s Camelot), spoofed (Monty Python and the Holy Grail), and even turned into an ultra-soft-core fantasy flick (1981’s Excalibur). Yet despite one recent failed attempt—2004’s King Arthur starring Clive Owen—Arthur, as a character, has never worked as a badass action hero.

亞瑟王這角色之所以會如此是有原因的。一直以來亞瑟王都有類似超人的問題,蓋瑞奇 (《福爾摩斯》電影導演)說:他總是維持著高尚的氣質,所以沒辦法很酷,也沒辦法給人危險誘人的氣息。還有,他幾乎不曾有自我矛盾的時刻。這隱藏的陷阱都是因為大家都想把亞瑟王拍得溫和又討人喜歡,或者是把他塑造的討人喜歡同時又很溫和。
